Community Involvement

Community Involvement

At Oakley Relocation, giving back is a big part of who we are. We have several relationships with non profit organizations that share our philosophy about serving the greater community.

Center for Community Solutions

Linda Oakley, President of Oakley Relocation, has been an active supporter of the Center for Community Solutions (CCS) for more than a decade. She currently serves on the CCS Board of Directors, helping to raise awareness throughout San Diego.

CCS helps more than 10,000 adults and children each year to heal and prevent relationship and sexual violence. CCS operates the only rape crisis center in the city of San Diego along with a countywide 24-hour bilingual crisis helpline. The nonprofit agency also provides emergency domestic violence shelters, hospital and court accompaniment, as well as legal and counseling services for those affected by domestic violence and sexual assault. CCS also works with local community groups and schools to provide innovative prevention programs to promote healthy relationships and peaceful communities.

American Cancer Society Discovery Shop (Rancho Bernardo)

With stores found up and down the coast in California, the American Cancer Society Discovery Shop supports the fight against cancer through the sale of donated merchandise. These specialty upscale resale stores feature items such as clothing, hats, purses, costume jewelry, small furniture items, antiques, collectibles, dishes, kitchen items and other household items.

Habitat ReStore Donation Program

North American Van Lines has aligned with Habitat for Humanity to collect donations of gently used or unwanted furniture and household items from customers who are relocating. We transport the items to the Habitat ReStore resale outlets to support Habitat for Humanity’s mission of building homes, community and hope in neighborhoods across the country.

USO

North American Van Lines has a long-standing history of moving military service members and supporting military organizations. The partnership between the USO and North American focuses on expanding support for service members in transition to civilian life, through employment opportunities, local North American agent involvement and providing expertise to transitioning service members throughout the moving experience.

The Gary Sinise Foundation

The  Gary  Sinise Foundation serves  our nation   by  honoring our defenders, veterans, first responders, their families and those in need. They create and support unique programs designed to entertain, educate, inspire, strengthen and  build communities. Through their R.I.S.E. (Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment) program, the Gary Sinise Foundation is building custom “smart homes” for severely wounded veterans and their families  nationwide. As their official moving partner, North American transports all of the furniture selected for the foundation’s “smart homes” to veterans and their families.

As the Official Moving Partner of the Gary Sinise Foundation, this North American Van Lines video shares how the partnership began.
