Alpine Movers for Rural and Mountain Properties
Alpine is a mountain town off I-8, and the hard part of an Alpine move is often the access. Homes sit on acreage, some horse properties back onto national forest land, and driveways can run a long way from the road. Getting the truck to the door takes more planning than the furniture does.

Private Roads and the Shuttle Truck
The first thing we check on an Alpine survey is where a truck can actually go. A private road, a gravel or dirt drive, a sharp turn off the pavement, a steep grade or a locked gate can each stop a full-size truck, and a long distance shipment usually travels on a tractor-trailer that needs even more room.
When the big truck can't get in, it parks wherever it has room to turn, and a smaller shuttle truck ferries your things up and down. Send us the gate code or call box number ahead of time, or plan to meet the crew at the road, so nobody sits at a locked gate on the clock.
Moving in Fire Season
Alpine is high fire country, ringed by brush and national forest land. From late summer into fall, Santa Ana winds bring red flag warnings, and a fire anywhere along I-8 can close roads or trigger evacuation orders with little notice.
If your move falls in that stretch, leave a day or two of slack on both ends, and keep medications and important papers in your car instead of on the truck. If a closure delays delivery, your shipment can wait in storage until the roads reopen.
Pricing an Alpine Move
We'd rather see an Alpine property in person, because photos don't show a driveway's grade or how tight the turn is off the road. The in-home survey with a Relocation Consultant is free, and what you get back is a written estimate. Inside the region you pay hourly, one rate for crew and truck together, so here the clock mostly runs on shuttle time, the number of buildings to empty and any wait at the gate.
Leaving California? Long distance moves are figured by weight and miles traveled, and if you take a binding estimate, that figure holds as long as nothing is added, the destination doesn't change and the load date stays put.
Questions From Alpine Property Owners
Will a full-size truck make it up my drive?
It depends on the grade, the surface, the turns and whether there's room to turn around at the top. We'll know after the survey, and if the answer is no, the shuttle is built into your estimate.
What about the barn and the workshop?
Saddles, tack trunks, tools and workbenches pack and load like furniture, and a gun safe or other heavy specialty item gets extra crew. Animals and feed need their own transport. Empty the tanks on mowers and generators, and leave gas cans and propane cylinders off the truck.
