Your Local Moving Company in San Diego
San Diego is a city of very different moves. A condo in the Gaslamp Quarter means elevator reservations, loading-dock times and a certificate of insurance for the building. A craftsman in North Park means narrow streets and tight parking. A house in Scripps Ranch or Rancho Bernardo means a long driveway and a full day of packing. Oakley Relocation plans for each of them, and we've been moving San Diego households since 2008 as an agent for North American Van Lines.
Local Movers for Every San Diego Neighborhood
We move apartments, condos and houses all over the city, including:
- Downtown: Gaslamp Quarter, East Village, Little Italy and Bankers Hill high-rises (see our downtown San Diego movers)
- Uptown: Hillcrest, Mission Hills and North Park
- The coast: La Jolla, Pacific Beach, Ocean Beach and Point Loma
- Central San Diego: Clairemont, Linda Vista, Kensington and the College Area near SDSU
- North San Diego: Carmel Valley, Sorrento Valley, Mira Mesa, Scripps Ranch and Rancho Bernardo
Apartment, Condo and High-Rise Moves
Most San Diego buildings have move rules, and missing one can cost you your moving day. Before the truck arrives, we confirm your building's move hours, reserve the service elevator and loading area, send the certificate of insurance your property manager needs and plan where the truck will park. Then we protect hallways and elevator walls, pad-wrap furniture and work floor by floor. Learn more about our apartment movers.
Moving a Family Home
A whole-house move starts with a free in-home or virtual survey. From there we build a plan around your dates and budget: full packing, packing only the fragile items, or loading what you've packed yourself. Floor and residence protection is standard, furniture is pad-wrapped, and high-value pieces are stretch-wrapped or crated.

San Diego Moving FAQ
How much do movers cost in San Diego?
Local moves are billed by the hour for the crew and truck, so the main questions are how much you're moving and how long access takes at each end: an elevator reservation, a long hallway, a tight street in North Park. Moves out of state are priced by weight and mileage instead. Either way, a free in-home or virtual survey comes first and you get the estimate in writing.
Do I need to reserve parking or an elevator?
Often, yes. Many downtown and high-rise buildings require a reserved service elevator and loading area, and some streets have very little parking. We ask about both at your survey and plan them before moving day.
Do you move outside San Diego?
Yes. We handle local moves across San Diego County, moves anywhere in California (including San Diego to Los Angeles) and long distance moves to any state, plus international moves through our network.
Where is Oakley Relocation based?
Our office is in San Marcos, in North County, and we serve all of San Diego County.
